Samuel, one of our ‘Better Lives’ project workers funded by National Lottery Reaching Communities out at Broadstairs Town Shed this week
Samuel had the pleasure of giving a short and causal talk to the “shed heads” and “shedders” at the Broadstairs Town Shed. The Town Shed is a community space boasting a impressive range of woodworking equipment, crafts/arts tools and a variety of other mediums for its group to use. Focusing on community working and transferring skills, the Shed provides a place for 50+ people to socialize, create and support one another.
Samuel spoke about our services, how we can support people closer to home than ever before with our outreach team and the types of advice we can offer. From questions about winter fuel allowances to accessing grants or later life benefits, we are glad to have a connection with the talented team at the Town Shed, who now know where to get accredited quality advice from.
With a base in creating together and a emphasis on wellbeing, the Shed is a great way for the 50+ community to tackle social isolation through making.
