We are here to help you, the people of Thanet, in times of difficulty. At Citizens Advice Thanet our professional team understands the difficulties many people find themselves in, and can offer help and support at these crucial times.

We help people find a way forward

Citizens Advice Thanet helps people tackle their problems head-on with advice, information and practical support.

As well as working with clients to sort out their individual problems, the Citizens Advice Service also works to change services and policies which are not working for our clients.

How can we help you?

We can all face problems that seem complicated or intimidating. At Citizens Advice we believe no one should have to face these problems without good quality, independent advice.

That’s why we’re here: to give people the knowledge and confidence they need to find their way forward – whoever they are, and whatever their problem.

We can provide a wide range of advice and assistance on different issues including Benefits, Housing, Debt and Money, Family, Employment, Immigration.

Margate

Our Margate office is open for pre-booked appointments only.

Ramsgate

Our Ramsgate office has a “Drop in Service” every Tuesday and Thursday 9.30am-12 noon. Wednesday 12.30 pm – 3 pm.

Pre-booked face to face appointments on other days available.

Christmas 2025 Opening Times

The last drop-in at the Ramsgate Office will be on Tuesday 23 December 2025 and will re-start again on Tuesday 6 January 2026.

Both Margate and Ramsgate Offices will be closed from midday on 24 December until Monday 5 January 2026.

Community Outreach

We also offer drop in advice services at different venues across Thanet – check out dates and locations for this month.

Volunteer with Us

Our highly trained volunteers come from all sorts of backgrounds and help with everything we do. Our volunteers benefit from their experience of working with us.

Retired volunteers believe it keeps them mentally active and nine in ten unemployed volunteers say it helps them move into employment or education.

We’ll reimburse expenses.

Due to a high number of applications we are not currently recruiting volunteers.
