Rise – Street Count

I had the pleasure of working with the RISE team during the local street count. This is a process by which we search, assist, identify and support rough sleepers that are bedded down across Thanet during the night/ early morning. Professionals from the RISE team as well as across other services in Thanet volunteer their time for a night time walk around across Thanet so we can find and help those that are struggling the most. We provide water, food, cards, offer assessments so we can best identify each person and the needs they may have.

The RISE team are an exceptional multidisciplinary team who deeply care about rough sleepers. From supporting with benefits to get them back on their feet, health checks, weekly drop ins to provide food and mentoring, substance abuse support and help in finding new accommodation they provide a wrap around service to help those most in need.

It’s an exceptional experience to help them and be closely connected with the team ensuring that citizens advice is there to support them with a range of issues that street homeless clients face.
