Ageless Thanet

Life Planners

Ageless Thanet is working with Citizens Advice Thanet to provide free, 1 to 1, intensive support and life planning to people who are 50+ and at risk of becoming lonely or isolated. The trigger for this could be from bereavement, redundancy, retirement or becoming a carer, to a change in your physical health. If you live in Birchington or the St Peter’s/Viking ward areas of Broadstairs, we can work with you to help overcome these difficulties.

Here’s just a few examples of the things we can help with:

• Confidence building

• Financial Planning

• Career Changes

• Help to try new things

• Legal Advice

• Adjusting to retirement

• Coping with bereavement

• Carer’s support

• Housing Advice

Our fully qualified, highly skilled Life Planners are there to work with you, understand your needs, wants and desires and develop a bespoke plan, just for you.

We want to give you the help, support and confidence you need to adapt to the things in your life that are proving difficult, allowing you to fully enjoy growing older. This service is free, confidential, impartial and independent.

Life Planning is part of the Ageless Thanet project, and is powered by Citizens Advice Thanet.

Citizens Advice Thanet have put together a team of 3 Life Planners who will be dedicated to Ageless Thanet and helping the residents of Birchington and the St Peter’s/Viking areas of Broadstairs for the next 5 years.

Ageless Thanet is one of 14 projects nationally,

all funded through the Big Lottery Fund's 'Fulfilling Lives: Ageing Better' programme.
In 2015 Social Enterprise Kent and the Ageless Thanet partnership successfully
secured £3m over 5 years to reduce social isolation and loneliness
and improve mental and physical health in older people.
